Nova Helmet

Created in Blender, although I did grab the panel diagram from a starship set I bought off the Daz Studio store. Even so, I had to adjust that a bit to make it work to my liking.

I must have remade this helmet 50 times in Blender. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be for such a simple shape. In my later artwork I shortened the height of the helmet and changed my method, then it became much easier.

If you look at reference, different artists take their license with the helmet. I prefer it without the flare at the bottom, so I always make it that way. It seems like the current style is to have it with the bottom flare, but I think it looks better with the straight cut bottom, myself.

After driving off space pirates and rescuing the grateful crew of a Starliner, Nova is invited on-board for some much needed R&R. He leaves his helmet in a back corner while getting to know one of the lovely engineers eager to make his acquaintance...
