Icon

Icon was my second favorite Milestone character, behind Static. It was awesome when he appeared in Young Justice, and when they folded the Milestone crew into the DC Universe proper.

I really, really, really wish we could get some Icon stories going in Rebirth, but it doesn't look like there's much demand for these characters now. It's too bad, in my opinion.

This was a Daz Studio piece I set up, then exported to Blender for the texturing, lighting and rendering.

When I remember some of the challenges with creating his suit, such as the harness, cape, and even his mask, I sort of cringe because I know much better ways to do those things now. I guess that's how it goes, we all have to go through those learning curves.

I always meant to circle back around to Icon and do another one, so hopefully I'm able to get to that soon.

Alien visitor Augustus Freeman, shipwrecked and stranded on Earth, stayed in the background for centuries. He met idealistic teen Racquel and was convinced to use his great power to be an Icon to people who desperately needed one.

Early Cycles render out of Blender. Lighting was not quite right, and no graffiti on the walls yet.
