Captain America

I was not a fan of Sam becoming Captain America, because I felt I was being pandered to in the name of diversity. However, I gave it a chance, and the stories were good. A lot of great spy/action stuff at first, and the social/political stories more recently. I've now added it to my pull-list, so that's my biggest endorsement.

I made this one using Daz Studio and Blender, and boy it was tougher than I thought. I modeled the wings in Blender, with the intention of rigging them up in Daz, but the Daz rigging system always seems to throw a monkey-wrench into my plans. SO instead I rigged them up in Blender. Then, Sam's costume is kind of elaborate, and the UV setup of the bodysuit I was using made it difficult to line everything up. Instead of stopping and making my own UV set, or making the suit from scratch, I was lazy, soldiered through and ended up doing more work than if I would have just stopped and done it right. Gotta stop doing that...

This Hydra agent is sure he won't get dropped by Captain America. He wouldn't, right? No reason to be afraid. On the other hand, this Captain America has a pretty bad track record so far. Maybe a lone Hydra agent is just one more mistake to be made...

At this stage I was working on the volumetrics and the overall look of the piece. It was too dark to me here.
